I'm back

When I started this blog, it was 100% my intent to post every day, well, at least every couple days, so that I would be forced to show everything that I was working on. Every time I went to post a photo or note, I would start and then decide that I whatever I was going to post was completely boring. And then before I knew it, months had passed. So I back and I am vowing to be better at posting from now one.

Quite a lot has happened in the past few months. I have been shooting a couple portrait sessions on my own, which has been amazing and so much fun! I have been so fortunate to have AMAZING clients. I also am back to being an assistant photographer for another professional. We shot our first wedding of the season this weekend, and it was such an amazing, amazing shoot.

I also finally was able to start upgrading my gear. I put my old 40D on the shelf and am now shooting with the Mark II. That has been one of the best decisions so far! The Mark II definitely lives up to all the hype, and I love shooting with it.

On a more personal note, the last time I wrote anything I was fostering 4 adorable kittens.  The two males, Oliver and Tom were adopted almost instantly. I had the two girls kittens for an extra month, and wow was it hard to part with them! I am glad they all found good homes, but I was definitely a little sad to see them go. However I went back to the midwest for Christmas and brought my own kitty, Lilly, who had been staying with my parents back with me.

I am a little hesitant to post anymore kitty pictures, because I don't want this to turn into a cat blog, but since I mentioned the kittens, I just can't resist posting a few more. :)

I had Audrey and Coco for a lot longer than the others. Apparently black cats have a harder time being adopted - I have no idea why. These two really were the sweetest ones of the litter and they had so much personality (Audrey played fetch), I can't believe it took them so long to find a home.
