Ted and Marie's Wedding on the Hood Canal - Kitsap Photographer

I began looking forward to this wedding the moment Ted and Marie booked me as their wedding photographer. Not only are they a sweet and genuine couple in love, but, like myself, they have lived in both the Pacific Northwest AND the Midwest.  Having grown up in Minnesota, I admittedly have a soft spot for the Midwest and enjoy meeting people who have spent time there. Of course their connection to the Midwest wasn't the only reason I was excited for their wedding. Ted and Marie are both very kind and thoughtful people. It took less than 30 seconds with the couple to realize that they are completely in love with each other, and are a perfect match.  I felt so privileged to be able to document their day.

Ted and Marie were such a great bride and groom to photograph because it was so  apparent that they were very in love with each other.

For their wedding, Ted and Marie planned a perfect day on the Hood Canal for their friends and family. The day was filled with yard games, food and lots of fun and laughter. The ceremony and events leading up to the ceremony took place at a private residence overlooking the Hood Canal. The entire day honored their love, heritage, family and friends.

During the first part of the day, guests mingled and played yard games such as bean bag toss. (If you are from the PNW, you probably know bean bag toss as corn hole... but being from the Midwest it will forever be bean bag toss to me.)

The bride and groom's two dogs, Jayne and Nandi (Bonus points if you recognized those names.  If you have no idea what I'm talking about, check out the show Firefly -you won't be disappointed.) were part of the day, and I'm so glad the couple brought them along. While including pets in a wedding day can be tricky, Jayne and Nandi were on their best behavior and added so much to the day.

Dogs Jayne and Nandi couldn't help but check out the wedding feast. Who can blame them?

The wedding ceremony itself took place over looking the Hood Canal. The couple exchanged their rings and vows they had written themselves.

I love the way Marie is looking at her groom in this photo. Marie and Ted's vows were so sweet and heartfelt that I caught myself tearing up a little bit behind the camera.

Ted and Marie- it was such a privilege to meet you and be part of your day. I wish you all the love and happiness that life can bring.
